The very first Day Sailer in the brand’s history, the Optio incorporates all the Wauquiez hallmark features: as all the models within the other ranges, it boasts the unmistakable sophistication, luxury and craftsmanship.
. Sleek, timeless lines, fluidity of the curves, uncluttered deck and teak covering the cockpit, flush deck hatches: the Optio has her own marked personality.
. A modern, minimalist interior design to increase the impression of space, entirely made at the Wauquiez shipyard with the same expertise and refined materials as on the larger models of the range.
. The Optio9 has been resolutely designed for high performance, with her progressive chine hull and sleek deck; the standard model includes full racing equipment.
. The high end standard deck hardware boosts her speed potential: double suspended rudder blades, 2 pairs of spreaders “racing” carbon mast and square-top main, Rod rigging, Dyneema sheets, Harken winches and blocks, retractable carbon bow sprit.
. Efficient helming with a crew: the removable seats ensure clear cockpit space to facilitate the movement of the crew.
. Fun helming single-handed or with a family crew: the seats reappear, the winches are within easy reach of the helmstation, self-tacking jib facilitates manoeuvers and the retractable bow sprit allows for the spinnaker to be hoisted effortlessly.
To spend a night on board before a regatta or a week end enjoying both sailing and relaxing at a mooring, the Optio9 boasts top-of-the-range interior fittings: linings on hull sides and ceiling, solid teak … Wauquiez oblige!
Functional, comfortable interior lay-out:
. The saloon has a folding teak table and seating area that converts into two berths
. The galley is functional with the work surface integrating a resin sink, a 50L fridge and a micro-wave oven (optional).
. The sleeping area has been placed forward and features a double bed with high density mattress and storage space under the bed.
. The Optio9 boasts a separate toilet, a rare feature on a 9-meter Day Sailer.
On deck, the design is also compatible with « farniente »: optional features include a fold down cockpit table, a folding transom which becomes a teak-lathed bathing platform and a large sunbathing area forward of the mast for optimal relaxation after the day’s efforts.
. Different options are available to transform the Day Sailer into a genuine little yacht to meet the needs of every yachtsman: a “B Category” version with handrails, a mooring kit including a catapulting anchor roller, a 220v electric pack with quay plug and charger etc.
. Retractable keel, 2.54m max beam, removable mast without backstays, a unique lifting point for launching at yacht-clubs… the Optio is towable, for easy access to all sailing areas.
The Optio9 is entirely built at the Wauquiez shipyard using the same building technology as for the other models of the brand.
The hull and deck are vacuum-infused, with unidirectional and quardiaxial E-glass cloth, gelcoat and bisphenolic resins on a selected and treated balsa end-grain core.
